Before we get to my content I want to give a quick but important plug for the Cosplay Survivor Support Network. Harassment is a huge issue in the cosplay and convention community; whether you’re new to the community or a veteran con-goer, you should check out the CSSN website. As the name suggests, their primary focus is as a safe and inclusive space for members of the cosplay community who are survivors of harassment, trauma, sexual assault, or abuse to find support and comfort. They also have a variety of resources to help educate yourself on harassment policies and laws by convention/state, helpful ways you can engage when faced with issues of harassment, articles on topics such as consent, mental health, and a lot more. Whether you’ve personally experienced harassment within our community or not, the Cosplay Survivor Support Network is a valuable resource to our community that I would encourage everyone interested in cosplay to visit.
